The next alternative option is to power the Data Center with the backup generators.
Electrical failure can put data centers at a high risk of operational loss. Data center systems require reliable and uninterrupted power supply as 24×7 basis.
The Data Center operation team need to ensure the availability of fuel at the premises to function the generator.
All data centers & DR Centers operate in either one of two modes – normal mode & emergency mode.
Normal Mode means the Data Center works on the utility power where as the emergency mode means the Data Center functions on the Generator backup.
The Generator capacity needs to be calculated well in advance to provide adequate power to all the critical and non critical equipment’s connected in the Data Center.
The NoN IT Components like, Precision cooling, UPS, FAS equipment’s shall be working from backup generator incase of power outage.
